Doing Good for Goode™
The Good We’ve Done
Congregation members volunteer at the Alexander D. Goode Elementary School in York City to improve the educational and extracurricular opportunities for students at the school named former TBI Rabbi Alexander B. Goode.
Goode students face many challenges, often linked to poverty. About half are reading below their grade level. One-quarter are English language learners. Another quarter has learning disabilities.
TBI outreach includes an annual school supply drive, a project that has turned a weed-choked courtyard into a vibrant outdoor learning space, and donations supported by Flavors of York that help enhance the overall education of Goode students.
